Bright truck of frogs

Just a blog documenting my time with the yellow truck of Frogs and Fun.

First go at Fun with the Fun

Made use of the towbar and good chance to see if the electrics worked and another surprise they did.
The towbar mount needed some mallet enforced persuasion but after it gave in everything worked as it should.

had a passenger utilize the trucks "party piece" and they loved it and impressively little wind disturbance when the back is open. and no I've not actually cleaned it yet

A fail, and a success of sorts

Ordered a new foglight glass from eBay as one of mine had a crack. Unfortunately by the time it arrived it had more cracks than mine. But great communication with the seller and with monies back ordered another

been looking around for a cover for the rear as I've now taken the truckman top off. Not a fan of the attached clips and "universal" covers ive seen being used so decided... I can make one. Many hours trawling through materials and caravan awning supplies websites for the piping and suitable material I got my supplies and broke out the sewing machine.

once again I'm impressed with my result. it has a few bits I can make better, and I will as I have enough material to make another but this will be great for now, maybe a beefier sewing machine needed

More measuring, and a tool kit

The truck is now living at home. had more of an explore into what its made from and discovered a toolkit under the passenger seat

took some quick measurements of the rear for my request in cut wood to replace the probably rotted away stuff that used to exist.

I knew how to decipher my scribblings, and luckily so did my best supporter of my crazy antics. now have a pile of wood strips to laser etch, treat and magnetize. I hope it works as I predict

I love these compartments, ideas surrounding air compressors, chargers, water carriers are swirling around

It passed!!!

Who books an MOT for Friday 13th?

I very nearly cancelled the MOT as for some reason the battery was dead. but even with a jump pack, and then a boost start that was used to start heavy duty machinery it wouldn't play along. (turned out the radio was in pin entry mode and stayed on)

After a long "fast" charge it did start but when it did it smoked.. a lot. Thankfully by the time I got to the test station the smoking had cleared

Parked waiting to find out its fate, but accompanied by a very nice yellow fellow.

I was very shocked to find it passed. but now its road legal i'm a bit at a loss as to what's next as id expected to be now fixing the bits the MOT highlighted.

Better make some space at home then

MOT Booked

Yup, everything on the previous mot fail has been looked at, and some additional welding done too. while I await the test date I might as well make a start on producing new stickers as mine are a tad faded.

Also capturing the seats as they gave me an idea for the cargo area

And new stickers made, have a couple of colour related changes to make but I feel they are a great recreation of the originals

Grinder and Paint...

First off, im not a welder, but I'll give things a try.

So according to the internet you keep cutting away until its shiny metal, trace this hole onto a piece of cardboard (kept the color theme going as best I could) cut it out and then get a piece of new metal to transfer the shape onto. seemed simple so far

I'm impressed with myself, and I also discovered the gas bottles for the welder are the perfect shape to for the radius of the curve. Some bystanders were not impressed at my discovery
